ShieldScan Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ShieldScan ("ShieldScan", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the ShieldScan mobile application and related services.

ShieldScan is a crypto-token risk research tool. It helps users review publicly available token and smart-contract risk signals. ShieldScan does not provide a cryptocurrency wallet, does not custody funds, does not execute trades, and does not ask for wallet seed phrases or private keys.

1. Information We Collect and Process

Depending on the features you use, ShieldScan may process:

Account information

• Email address.
• Account identifier.
• Display name or profile information provided through an authentication provider, if applicable.
• Authentication and account-verification information needed to create and secure your account.

App activity and user-created data

• Token contract addresses, chain/network selections, and other public token identifiers submitted for analysis.
• Scan results and scan history associated with your account.
• Watchlist entries.
• Alert preferences and related app settings.
• Usage/quota information needed to apply free or paid plan limits.

Subscription and purchase information

• Subscription status, entitlement status, product identifiers, and purchase history information required to provide paid features and restore purchases.
• Payment card or banking details are not collected directly by ShieldScan. Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google Play, while subscription entitlement management may be handled through RevenueCat.

Technical and security information

• Limited device, app, network, request, and diagnostic information may be processed where necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
• Hosting, authentication, payment, and network providers may process IP addresses and similar technical information as part of normal service operation.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and secure user accounts.
• Provide token scanning and risk-analysis features.
• Save scan history, watchlists, alerts, and preferences.
• Apply plan limits and provide subscription entitlements.
• Restore purchases and synchronize subscription status.
• Detect abuse, protect the service, and maintain reliability.
• Respond to support requests.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information.

3. Public Blockchain and Token Information

Token contract addresses and blockchain information submitted to ShieldScan may refer to information already publicly available on blockchain networks or public market-data services. A blockchain transaction or token address may remain publicly available independently of ShieldScan and cannot be deleted by ShieldScan from the underlying blockchain.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

ShieldScan relies on service providers to operate key features, including:

Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.

5. Data Sharing

We may disclose information:

• To service providers that provide functionality necessary for ShieldScan.
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
• To protect the rights, security, integrity, or safety of ShieldScan, our users, or others.
• In connection with a business reorganization, merger, acquisition, or transfer, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information or share personal information for payment.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and app data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide ShieldScan, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet applicable legal or accounting obligations.

When an account is deleted, data controlled by ShieldScan that is associated with that account will be deleted or de-identified, except where retention is required for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, or compliance purposes.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten through normal retention cycles. Purchase or billing records held independently by Google Play, RevenueCat, or other providers may remain subject to those providers' retention obligations.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your ShieldScan account and associated data:

• Through the in-app account deletion option, where available; or

Deleting your ShieldScan account does not cancel or erase records held independently by Google Play or other third parties where those records are subject to separate legal or platform requirements. If you have an active subscription, manage or cancel it through Google Play as appropriate.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including authenticated access and backend access controls. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Never submit a wallet seed phrase, private key, password for another service, or other cryptocurrency secret to ShieldScan. ShieldScan does not require such information to scan a public token.

9. Children's Privacy

ShieldScan is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, use the support page below to contact us.

10. International Processing

Service providers used by ShieldScan may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, such processing is subject to applicable legal safeguards and the provider's contractual and privacy obligations.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability.
